From Josh Welge in our DuPage County bureau: For the second time in five years, a Benet girls volleyball middle hitter is headed east to Boston. Benet middle Brittany Pavich, who will be a junior this fall, verbally committed to Boston College this week. Currently 2008 graduate Val Mattaliano plays for Boston College. The 6-foot-3 Pavich, who plays club for Sports Performance, was a varsity starter on Benet's Class 4A state championship volleyball team last season. "Brittany has worked vary hard to become of the best middles in the state of Illinois," Benet coach Brad Baker said. "Always a great teammate, Brittany continues to improve and has a tremendous upside as a player. Boston College is lucky to get Brittany and I expect her to be a difference-maker there." Pavich said she loved the combination of academics and volleyball at Boston College. "I knew it was a good fit for me when I visited the campus," Pavich said.
