Sullivan: The irony in Motorola's move
After we talked to state Rep. Ed Sullivan yesterday for the big Motorola story, he got back to us a little later to point out what he said was some "irony" he spotted.
The Mundelein Republican was talking about the legislation lawmakers approved last year that set up the tax breaks given to Motorola to convince them to stay in Libertyville.
Those tax breaks are following the company from Lake County to their new location in Chicago. But, Sullivan said, a look at the vote on those original tax breaks is what's ironic. Here's the vote.
Twenty people voted against the tax breaks. At least 16 are lawmakers from Cook County.
