The politics of the George Foreman grill

Quick: Which presidential candidate's supporters are more likely to be big fans of the George Foreman Grill, an amazing small appliance invented by a man from Batavia?

We didn't know either. But there's a study out there from advertising agency SocialCode about which candidate's supporters are more likely to "like" various brands and people on Facebook.

You might not be surprised that President Obama's supporters are more likely to "like" the Huffington Post. And Mitt Romney backers are more likely to "like" Fox News.

We were drawn to the study by this tweet from former Rep. Peter Roskam spokesman Gerrit Lansing.

Obama's FB fans prefer Yoga Journal (whatvr that is). Romney's prefer G Foreman's grill. Says a lot, to me. via @thefix

It says more to us that despite the suggestion the GOP loves George Foreman and Democrats love yoga, voters of both parties seem to really like the George Foreman Grill, according to the study.

In fact, despite the Obama backers appear to like the George Foreman Grill even more.

On the study's index, "George Foreman Cooking" gets a rating of 11 with Obama people. Romney people give it a 9. It's in the top 10 for "likes" by both, according to the study.

Now that's bipartisanship.

Here's an image of the study's results from its authors.
