Does NRCC ad buy for Walsh signify change in tide?
A significant ad buy by the National Republican Congressional Committee for Congressman Joe Walsh may be indicative that party operatives are not counting the McHenry Tea Partyer out of the race against Democrat Tammy Duckworth, as they may have months ago.
Sources with the committee have confirmed the $457,785 reservation on cable stations running from Oct. 5 through Election Day.
The commercials will run on channels, including A&E, the Discovery Network, ESPN, the History Channel, Home and Garden TV and Fox News in Mt. Prospect, Schaumburg, Bloomingdale, Rolling Meadows, St. Charles and Wheaton. Ads are expected to run between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight.
The buy follows last week's news that Now or Never PAC had spent $810,000 on an television ads for Walsh.
