Hultgren gets financial services committee assignment, other member still waiting
Republican Rep. Randy Hultgren of Winfield today announced that he has been named to the House financial services committee for the 113th Congress, which is sworn in Jan. 3.
Committee assignments - for both freshman and veteran lawmakers - are being decided as we speak, with none of them "officially official" until January.
Hoffman Estates Democratic Congresswoman-elect Tammy Duckworth has no assignments yet, but says she hopes to be assigned to the transportation and infrastructure committees, but understands "freshmen rarely get their first choice."
Incoming Republican Congressman Rodney Davis of downstate Taylorville - whose 13th district seat was already named by Democratic Congressional Committee Chair Steve Israel as one of the most vulnerable for the GOP come 2014 - has been appointed to the agriculture and transportation committees.
