Camby picks Rockets
The Bulls lost out on one potential backup big man Sunday when Marcus Camby agreed to join the Houston Rockets, according to multiple reports. Camby also considered the Bulls and Miami.
Whether they'll miss not having Camby on the roster remains to be seen. He turns 40 in March and averaged just 1.8 points in 24 games for the Knicks last season.
Camby went to Toronto as part of the Andrea Bargnani trade this summer and negotiated a contract buyout with the Raptors. He'll play for the veteran's minimum salary of $1.4 million. Camby has a permanent residence in the Houston area, which was obviously a factor in his choice.
The Bulls have also been linked to former San Antonio power forward DeJuan Blair as another low-priced big man candidate.
