DeJuan Blair does Dallas

Not sure how avidly the Bulls were chasing former San Antonio power forward DeJuan Blair, but he's off the board, choosing to sign with Dallas on Tuesday.

They lost another potential backup big man candidate a couple days ago when Marcus Camby decided to join Houston, as expected.

The Bulls have probably been checking around to see which players are willing to take the minimum salary to join a potential winning team. The list of available big men is getting slim, with the likes of Hamed Haddadi, Jason Collins and Johan Petro at the top. Maybe they could snag Miami good-luck charm Juwan Howard for a final season in his hometown.

Can't see the Bulls taking a flyer on Drew Gooden and certainly not Tyrus Thomas. Otherwise, they might as well re-sign Malcolm Thomas as an extra big man.

The Bulls have 12 players under contract for next season and are well into luxury tax territory, so they're in no hurry to add another player, anyway. Blair had some nice years for the Spurs, averaging 8.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in 2010-11. But with the emergence of Tiago Splitter, Blair had all but disappeared from the rotation by last season's playoffs.
