Noah meets obstacle in OKC locker room

It's not unusual for NBA players to stop by the opposing locker room after games, usually to greet former teammates.

Joakim Noah met some resistance, though, when he walked into the Oklahoma City locker room after Thursday's 107-95 loss. Noah was there to greet former Bull and fellow French speaker Thabo Sefolosha, no doubt. But he was stopped by a former enemy from Boston, Thunder center Kendrick Perkins.

There were still players and reporters in the locker room at the time, so plenty of witnesses to the verbal exchange between Noah and Perkins. Anthony Slater from The Oklahoman sent this account:

Perkins: "They just let anybody in the locker room?"
Noah: "Come on, man."
Perkins: "I'm just asking."
Noah: "Come on, man."
Perkins: "Just let anyone in the locker room now?"
Noah: "You want me to wait outside?"
Perkins: "I'm just saying, though."
Noah: "If you want me to wait outside, I'll wait outside."
Perkins: "Get your ass up outta here."
Noah: "All right."

Noah and Perkins reportedly had more words as Noah walked to the team bus, but it was never more than a verbal altercation.

The prevailing memory of Noah and Perkins in competition was during the 2009 Bulls-Celtics first round playoff series. That was Noah's second season in the league.

On Thursday, Noah finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Perkins had 0 points and 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. But Perkins wouldn't have been upset about that, would he?

Perkins is averaging 3.2 points and 3.5 rebounds this season, while making nearly $9 million.
