Sox announce Lindstrom as closer

It's sunny, 65 degrees (feels like about 110), the wind at U.S. Cellular Field is gusting out to left field and, in a little over an hour, the White Sox can officially the 99-loss 2013 season in the past.
While it doesn't look like the Sox are going to make the playoffs for the first time since 2008, at least they should be more interesting and easier to watch over the next six months.
We shall see.
Here are some Opening Day notes as White Sox ace Chris Sale prepares to face the Twins, who again stack up as one of the worst teams in baseball.
-Matt Lindstrom - not Nate Jones - opens the season as the Sox' closer.
“I just have confidence in him with what he's done in the past and what he did in spring training,” Ventura said. “He's the right guy to start us off."
Lindstrom actually missed most of spring training with a left oblique strain, but the 34-year-old righty managed to make 3 Cactus League appearances before camp broke and he allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings.
-With right-hander Ricky Nolasco starting for the Twins today, left-hander Adam Dunn is the White Sox’ designated hitter over Paul Konerko and another lefty, Alejandro De Aza, gets the start in left field over Dayan Viciedo.
De Aza is no longer the starting center fielder, as newcomer Adam Eaton takes over that position and the leadoff spot as well.
De Aza is batting seventh today.
“He'll have more chances to drive in runs that you just don't get as a leadoff hitter,” Ventura said of De Aza, who had a standout spring with a .383 batting average, 2 home runs and 6 RBI. “He has some pop, too. He had 17 homers so I don't see this as a demotion as much as giving him more opportunities where he's at. I mean, Adam (Dunn) where he's at, he's where he belongs, too."
Dunn is batting fifth.
